SD Amateur Golf Rules & Regulations

  • Tournaments are open to any amateur golfer that meets the following criterion: 1) Resident of San Diego County; 2) 5 handicap or better; 3) 21 years of age or older.
  • All tournament play and prizing will confirm with USGA® Rules of Golf including upholding the integrity of the game and compliance with rules regarding Amateur Status.
  • Eligibility for the San Diego Cup Team includes playing in at least one (1) round with SD Amateur Golf
  • All play is at scratch.
  • Applicable tournament entry fees must be paid for. No shows or late withdraws for any reason are frowned upon and could result in suspension or expulsion from San Diego Amateur Golf.
  • By submitting an entry for any San Diego Amateur Golf event, the contestant understands that his/her participation is at the sole discretion of San Diego Amateur Golf. A contestant may be removed from any competition at the discretion of the tournament staff or committee at any time before or during the competition. Incidents of unbecoming conduct or actions deemed to be detrimental to the image of the San Diego Amateur Golf or the “spirit of the game” are grounds for such removal and suspension/expulsion from the Tour. These include, but are not limited to: 1) Willful damage of the golf course or golf course property; 2) Club throwing or unnecessary club tossing; 3) Offensive or unbecoming language; 4) Public criticism of golf course or verbal abuse of staff, officials, or other contestants; 5) Potential endangerment of others; 6) Conduct deemed unbecoming.
